10 days to go until the World Cup 2014 kicks off in Brazil and now is the time you probably thinking, "I need a new television!", but with all these new formats and standards, not to mention all the new features, it all gets a little confusing and over whelming. So what do all these new formats and features mean, HD ready, HD, 4K. Smart, flicker rate and so on and so on .
Well. let's clarify a few things; you only really need what you can afford and have the capability to use, everything else is probably something you will never use or need. Basically all you need is a HD Freeview/Freesat (there are some chanels available on each that are not availabel on the other service) enabled HD TV, this will undoubtedly be equipped with more inputs than you will need, enough to connect a DVD/Blu-Ray player, games console and SKY/BT Vision set top box, a total of 3 HDMI inputs, this TV will also in likely hood have more inputs to enable the direct connection of video cameras and other RCA connecting equipment, it may well have a Scart connector too. |
